I am driving in Austin, TX, and there was a time when the city booted out Lyft and Uber and then a bunch of alternatives turned up.
There was locally created RideAustin, as well as Fare, Fasten, GetMe, and Wings. But my favorite for a while was Arcade City. This literally started out as a Facebook group where people would request a ride and drivers who responded first would get the ride. It was anarchy and I was glad when Uber and Lyft returned.
Anyhow, there is a designated pick-up area at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and they have a sign for Lyft, Uber, Wingz, and RideAustin.
After Uber and Lyft returned to Austin I deleted the other apps and as far as I know, many of those services closed up around here.
I can’t imagine other services have even 5% of the market share, right?
